Why do I work out.

I turned 40 last year and have never thought of myself as old. My grandparents are all in their early to mid 80s, so I figured I had a lot of time left. The only difference is, by the time my parent and grandparents were my age they had grown children. I, on the other hand, have a 1 year-old. I have a lot of time to raise children and stay active for them. I didn't want to be the parent that couldn't get around and play because I was too "old". I feel like I am young, but my body was not agreeing with me. So, it was time for exercise and Beachbody/P90X won. Truthfully, I feel like I am aging backwards. I feel better than I have in a decade and am able to keep up with the kids better. I still have a few aches now and then, but most of them are from exercising and those are the ones I like. I have decided that age is only in your mind and you can tell yourself you have the body of a 20 year old and you do. If you believe it, it is true, that's the power of the mind. So if you want to feel younger, act younger, and beat your kids at games you never thought possible, join me in my quest to take 20+ years off your life and have your second youth.
