Eating Plan for the Week!!

I have found that when the children are all off from school -- and especially when there are holidays thrown into that mix -- that I get completely overwhelmed with just the simplest of tasks, most significantly, planning and executing my ideal eating plan.  When there are kids meals to make, parties and/or entertaining, the refrigerator easily starts getting stuffed with all sorts of easy-to-grab but completely NOT on my plan foods, and getting sidetracked with cleaning up the party messes that keep cropping up as I explore the house, last-minute Halloween costume emergencies and, in the case of this week, an unplanned computer crisis makes it all too easy to say, "Forget it!" and just grab out of the Halloween basket, which sets me that much further back from achieving my goals.

Fortunately, I did a relatively good job of keeping myself on track and resisting the distractions and getting completely off-course, but as with most Mondays, today seems like a great day to really get focused on tightening it up.  I've got my workout plan set and now it's time to clean out the fridge, create the shopping list and meal plan and get started.  First up, and already done, is my vitamins and first 24 oz. of water.  If I start small and simple, I set myself for the next good choice of a great breakfast, and from there the day just flows as it should.

But it all starts in the grocery cart!!  My list this week:  organic chicken, sweet potatoes, almonds, asparagus, spinach and eggs.  Time to go eat!!
